Satang Nabaneh

Satang Nabaneh, PhD, LLD, is an award-winning scholar, educator and human rights practitioner focused on human rights, democratization, transitional justice and comparative constitutionalism. She is the director of programs and assistant professor of practice at the University of Dayton Human Rights Center. Nabaneh’s work spans refugee law, migrant exploitation and combating discrimination. She co-founded Think Young Women (TYW) and Law Hub Gambia, and has held positions with the African Union and the University of Pretoria. Her work appears in journals such as the African Human Rights Law Journal and Health and Human Rights Journal. Nabaneh is the author of Choice and Conscience (2023) and co-editor of several volumes. Featured in prominent outlets like The New York Times, she was named one of The Africa Report’s top 10 scholars to watch in 2024.
