Laura is Executive Director of the Alan Alda Center for Communicating Science and Professor of Communication at Stony Brook University. Her work bridges research and practice in science communication, supporting thousands of researchers and professionals worldwide. Dr. Lindenfeld helps scientists connect more meaningfully with communities, stakeholders, and decision-makers. She champions clear, authentic communication and believes that sharing knowledge effectively empowers people to act as informed stewards of our shared world. She is also the principal author of Science Communication for Scientists: Linking Strategy with Creativity, Practice, and Respect (Routledge, 2025), developed with leading scholars from MSU, UT Austin, UW–Madison, and Stony Brook. The book offers a research-informed approach to science communication and will be open access.
