Charlotte Clymer is a writer, communications consultant, activist, and military veteran. She writes about politics, religion, foreign policy, and culture in her bestselling blog "Charlotte's Web Thoughts." Her writing has been recognized with the 2025 Military Reporters & Editors Award for Commentary Opinion, the 2024 LGBTQ+ Journalists Association Award for Excellence in Blogging, and the 2024 Editors & Publishers Magazine Award for Best News/Political Blog. She served as Fall '21 fellow at the Georgetown Institute of Politics & Public Service and was previously a press secretary for the Human Rights Campaign. In 2023, she became the first openly-trans person elected to Term Membership in the Council on Foreign Relations. She serves on the Boards of Running Start, LGBTQ+ Victory Fund, and Voices for Progress. In 2020, she was named to Fortune Magazine's '40 under 40' list in the Politics & Government category. She is a proud graduate of Georgetown University and resides in Washington, D.C.
