Melissa Price

While pursuing her doctorate degree in ovarian cancer research, Melissa Price (MCDBio’07) has been working with a large consortium that is trying to identify genetic risk factors across multiple cancer types and the underlying biology of these factors that contribute to disease. For her project Melissa is performing the functional follow-up on one of these factors to see how the genetic variation affects the cellular process in order to understand how ovarian cancer arises in certain individuals. On another note Melissa and her husband Charles Buckley (EPOBio’07) had a baby girl, Clara Buckley, Sept. 26, 2013. The family attended the CU-Boulder MAVEN mission to Mars weekend festivities in Cocoa Beach, Fla., in November. They live in Wesley Chapel, Fla.
