Junior-to-be Tyler Hansen was listed ahead of senior Cody Hawkins on the quarterback depth chart the day of the spring game in April, but the battle for the starting QB job will be carried into the summer.
“I think the difference (between the two) has been paper thin the whole time,” coach Dan Hawkins says.
Hansen, who started the second half of the 2009 season, completed 17 of 22 passes for 170 yards in the spring game, while Cody Hawkins went 20 of 26 for 220 yards.
Meanwhile, place kicker Aric Goodman underwent surgery on his right hip on April 10 and is expected to need three months of recovery before kicking again.
