Faculty Computers

CMDI partners with OIT to provide funding and support for Faculty technology.

Existing (4 years plus) CMDI Faculty are eligible for the Faculty Computer Purchase Program offered by OIT. This program offers Faculty $1200 towards the purchase of a new computer, with CMCI providing an additional $800. If the computer purchase costs more than $2,000, the cost will come out of the faculty member’s scholar’s fund.

To be eligible for FCPP, a faculty member must meet the following criteria:

  • Be on a multi-year contract funded with continuing budget (general fund).
  • Have one of the following job classifications: Tenured and tenure-track faculty, assistant teaching professor, associate teaching professor, or teaching professor.
    • Note that this excludes research professors.
  • Faculty are first eligible when entering the fourth year of the appointment that is funded with continuing budget (general fund).

Faculty should work with the CMDI Finance team to use this program.
