Jill Blondin biography

Jill Blondin became the inaugural vice chancellor for global affairs at the University of Colorado Boulder in July 2026. As CU Boulder’s senior international officer, she leads the Office of Global Affairs and oversees the university’s global engagement efforts, including international partnerships, global programs, international student and scholar services, and campuswide globalization initiatives. She works closely with campus partners to advance a cohesive global strategy and strengthen CU Boulder’s standing as a globally connected research university.

Prior to joining CU Boulder, Blondin served as vice provost for global initiatives at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), where she led a centralized Global Education Office overseeing education abroad, international student support and recruitment, global partnerships, immigration services and an English Language Program. 

She earned her bachelor’s degree from Indiana University and her master’s and doctoral degrees from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Her academic background is in art history, and her professional expertise includes strategic budgeting, internationalization, global learning, risk management and global partnerships.
