Geoffrey Rubinstein

I’ve been Director of Online Learning at CU Boulder since 2004. My work focuses on open educational resources and pedagogies, faculty professional development, student success initiatives and educational legislation, technology and innovation.

I’ve taught writing, communication and media studies at several universities and have served as an instructional designer in both academic and private sector ventures. My Ph.D. work in media studies focused on media technologies, institutions and audiences; and my dissertation research in the mid-90's focused on how digital media production technologies influence the creative process.  

I’ve served on the Rocky Mountain Dialogues for Mindfulness in Higher Education conference planning committee for several years and have enjoyed being part of a growing community of colleagues who promote contemplative practices, research and pedagogy at our colleges and universities. I’ve been practicing meditation for over 30 years and have participated in many immersive meditation retreats.
