James Prairie has been a hydrologic engineer for the Bureau of Reclamation since 2000, and he is currently stationed at CADSWES. Prairie has extensive experience directing and coordinating research, development and modeling projects. Prairie leads applied research in mid-term operations and long-term water resource planning, climate variability and decision support under uncertainty. He directs river basin modeling technical teams and oversees the consumptive use, natural flow and natural salinity development programs for the Upper Colorado River Basin.
Prairie earned a PhD in Civil Engineering from CU Boulder and a BS in Environmental Resource Engineering from the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry.
