Kayla Hardin-Lawson

I am currently seeking a B.A. in the International Affairs program here at the University of Colorado Boulder, graduating this upcoming Spring 2018. Along with two minors in Political Science and Spanish as well as, seeking a certificate in Global Gender & Sexuality Studies.

Post-graduation, I am looking to join a Peace Corps volunteer program in Latin America or find position in a Non-Governmental Organization that works specifically in U.S. Foreign Policy towards the Latin American region. I also hope to eventually complete a Graduate Program in International Relations.

This past year, I have had the opportunity to participate in the Denver Foundation’s Non-Profit Internship Program, and work a full-time internship with the Women’s Foundation of Colorado. This upcoming Spring 2018 I am participating in the CU in D.C. program, in which I will be the Cuba/ Central America Intern for the Latin America Working Group (LAWG) in Washington D.C. I am very excited for this upcoming opportunity with LAWG, after having the experience of studying abroad in Cuba. I have a special place in my heart for the vibrant culture and people of Latin America, and look forward to the opportunity to learn from many of the key players in implementing change in U.S. foreign policy towards the region.
