ATOC graduate student and research associate win "Make our Planet Great Again" awards

ATOC graduate student Michael 'Drew' Camron and ATOC/INSTAAR Research Associate Cheryl Harrison (soon to be Assistant Professor at University of Texas Rio Grande Valley) both won a 'Make Our Planet Great Again' Awards from the Government of France!  They were selected as Short-Stay Laureates from candidates all over the world (see attached, https://www.campusfrance.org/fr/make-our-planet-great-again-154-laureats-etrangers-seront-en-france-a-partir-de-septembre-2018).

During the Fall Semester 2018, Drew will be in France to collaborate with colleagues at Laboratoire de Météorologie Dynamique – Sorbonne Université - Ecole Polytechnique on his project 'Combining CloudSat observations and CESM simulations to untangle the past, present, and future of Greenland ice sheet precipitation'.

During Fall Semester 2018, Cheryl will be in France to collaborate with colleagues at Institut Méditerranéen d'Océanologie - Aix-Marseille Université – Université de Toulon – IRD CNRS on her project "Impact of the Loop Current variability on connectivity and dispersal across the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean"
