Julann brings more than three decades of management, event production, marketing and communications experience from diverse industries to her leadership position with the CU Boulder Alumni Association. She has held her current role since 2013 and has risen in leadership responsibility during her tenure. She plays a significant role in directing the strategic planning and visioning for the organization and is intimately involved in developing and implementing the strategic plan including setting goals and developing metrics by which to measure the association’s success. As a change agent, she works to implement innovations that have significant impact for the organization. Most recently, Julann led the sourcing, implementation, launch and growth of a new virtual platform called the Forever Buffs Network that is designed to build community within the student and alumni base, support career advancement and offer broad mentorship opportunities. She leads a team of 10 on the Events & Outreach Team that have the responsibility for implementing all event engagements locally, nationally, internationally and virtually, and managing the volunteer engagement network, student alumni association and alumni career services.
Prior to joining the CU Boulder Alumni Association, Julann owned and operated a consulting firm offering full-service marketing and event management services, as well as worked for a GE subsidiary in the high-tech industry and the ski industry. Julann is a proud Forever Buff and received a BS in marketing from the University of Colorado Boulder Leeds School of Business.
