Ioana Fleming joined CU Boulder in 2014. She was born in Romania where she completed an MD degree. In the United States, she received a B.S. in Computer Science from Illinois Institute of Technology in 2005, followed by a Computer Science M.S. (2009) and PhD (2014) from Johns Hopkins University. Her research work lies at the intersection of Computer Vision and Medical Imaging, with applications to ultrasound elastography, thermal imaging and image guided surgery. She was the PI of a three year fellowship funded by the Department of Defense under the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program for Prostate Cancer.
