Current Issues in Ethics and AI Course
Artificial intelligence—especially generative AI—is rapidly transforming careers, education, healthcare, media, and other parts of daily life. These advances bring major ethical questions, including bias and accuracy, the limits of automation, the risks and benefits of autonomous systems, and the future of human work as AI evolves.
This course introduces students to key ethical issues in AI and provides frameworks for analyzing them in professional and real-world contexts. It draws on current news and recent research and can be easily updated as the field evolves.
By completing this course, you will learn to:
- Identify and manage ethical situations related to AI that may occur in learners' careers.
- Identify and assess ethical challenges arising from AI, including algorithmic bias and uses in healthcare, robotics, criminal justice, and warfare.
- Understand and analyze societal challenges related to AI including energy consumption, the future work of work, and artificial general intelligence.
