In Fall 2013, the CU Board of Regents directed each of the campuses in the CU System to initiate work to develop academic and administrative prioritization constructs that could provide insights into the way in which individual academic and administrative units contribute to the core mission of the university and to the separate missions of the individual campuses, as defined in Colorado statute and in Regent law and policy.

As the comprehensive research campus of the University of Colorado system, CU Boulder has found the Academic Prioritization process helpful in its academic planning process and updates this information on a regular basis to assist in campus decision-making and inform the Board of Regents. Each year's report is based on the most recent institutional data available for each evaluation component.
