Professor & Department Chair of Sociology

Don Grant is Chair of Sociology at CU Boulder. His past research on energy and environmental issues examined the effectiveness of U.S. states’ climate policies in reducing power plants’ carbon pollution and the uneven distribution of CO2 emissions within countries’ electricity sectors. Currently, he is extending this research to investigate the effects of organizational characteristics, international trade, non-governmental organizations, inequality, entrepreneurial activity, and national energy regulations on individual power plants’ carbon and water footprints.
