The University of Colorado Boulder recognizes that smoking any substance presents a public health hazard. The University is dedicated to providing a healthy, comfortable and educationally productive learning environment for faculty, staff, students and visitors. As such, it shall be the policy of the Boulder Campus that smoking will not be allowed in either indoor or outdoor areas of the campus.
The purpose of this policy is to establish requirements and standards for the placement of all free publications and newspaper distribution racks in General Fund academic, research, and administrative buildings (“Buildings”). This policy does not apply to other campus buildings such as student housing, UCSU operated buildings and others that are listed on Attachment A. Those buildings may have their own policy on the placement of free publication and newspaper distribution racks.
This policy covers the naming of major facilities at the University of Colorado at Boulder. This includes buildings, wings of buildings, recreational fields, plazas, fountains, roadways, and similar facilities. The policy also covers the naming of smaller facilities, such as classrooms, seminar rooms, lecture halls, laboratories, and interior portions of buildings. Unless otherwise stated, the term "facilities" shall include both major and smaller facilities.
