The goal of the student success component of ODECE is to work in partnership with all students, student-serving groups, academic support units across the schools and colleges, the Office of Admissions, and the Graduate School to attract and retain successful undergraduate and graduate students from diverse backgrounds.
The CU Leadership, Excellence, Achievement, and Diversity (CU-LEAD) Alliance is a unique set of academic learning communities whose students, faculty, and staff are united to promote inclusive excellence. These “academic neighborhoods” foster scholastic camaraderie and promote student success through enhanced instruction, small group classes, leadership activities, computer labs, personal links to faculty and staff, scholarships, research experiences, advising, mentoring and tutoring, and community service for students of color and first-generation students.
PCS/ODECE coordinates, enhances, and expands recruitment/outreach strategies that strengthen CU-Boulder’s partnerships with K–12 initiatives throughout the state and nation.
DS/ODECE provides students, staff, and faculty with disabilities the tools, reasonable accommodations, and support services to participate fully in the academic environment.
UP/ODECE prepares students from target communities to successfully matriculate to the university/college of their choice. CU-Boulder’s program provides pre-college programming to approximately 80 Native American high school students from 28 high schools in 13 reservation communities in Colorado and across the country.
