Residential Academic Programs

Residential Academic Programs (RAPs) provide you with a shared learning and living experience in a community setting. Once admitted, you can look forward to:

  • Taking selected courses in your hall
  • Making friends who share your interests
  • Participating in educational and social events
  • Developing your own ideas in a small group setting

B3 Business Residential Academic Program offers first-year Leeds School of Business students the opportunity to interact with faculty, staff, advisors, and upper class mentors.

Baker Residential Academic Program offers lectures, field trips, and research opportunities for freshmen and sophomores interested in the natural or environmental sciences.

Communication and Society Residential Academic Program provides a living and learning environment in Buckingham Hall designed around the theme of communication and society. Students explore the complex social problems and challenges of communication in contemporary society in seminar sized classes. 

Engineering Honors Residential Academic Program provides educational experiences that match the abilities and ambitions of some of the very best students at CU.

Farrand Residential Academic Program offers small seminar courses in the liberal arts, designed for first- and second-year students in the College of Arts and Sciences.

Global Studies Residential Academic Program (G-RAP) includes classes and programs with a global focus for freshmen pursuing international interests.

Health Professions RAP provides an academic community for freshmen and select sophomores who take common courses and participate in co-curricular activities designed around current topics and basic academic preparation for careers in the health professions.

Honors RAP is a community with small honors classes, advising, and cocurricular activities for students in the College of Arts & Sciences Honors Program.

Leadership Residential Academic Program. Study leadership from a multicultural and global perspective. Program details:

  • Chancellor's Leadership Studies Program (CLSP):
    Leadership development with an emphasis on civic responsibility and community service. Students explore their roles and responsibilities in society, including the moral and ethical dimensions of leadership.
  • Ethnic Living and Learning Community Studies Program (ELLC):
    Small class sizes, leadership summits, social and educational events, academic excellence, and networking. Provides a multicultural living and learning experience and the opportunity to study leadership from a multicultural and global perspective.

Libby Arts Residential Academic Program is an artistic community offering courses in visual arts, theatre and dance, and film studies.

Sewall Residential Academic Program offers special courses, activities, and advising for freshmen and sophomores interested in history, culture, and society.

Sustainability and Social Innovation RAP provides students from all academic disciplines study of a variety of practices that foster social innovation and sustainability

Sustainable by Design Residential Academic Program provides students enrolled in any course of study the opportunity to live in a creative, sustainable living environment while earning academic credit for their degree.
