Each year, the students at the University of Colorado Boulder celebrate Engineering Days, or E-Days, with a series of fun and challenging events. E-Days is hosted by the University of Colorado Engineering Council (UCEC) and is sponsedays canvasored by various societies and corporations. These days are set to celebrate the engineering profession by giving students the chance to apply their engineering skills in fun, exciting, and creative ways.

This week-long festival includes some new events and old classics. The contests listed below encourage students to apply their engineering skills to innovative designs and projects. These challenges are intended to be fun and give the students a well-deserved "break" from classes before they begin studying for finals.

The Egg Drop is an all-time favorite among students, faculty and staff. The event challenges students to create a device that will protect an egg that will be dropped from the engineering office tower's eighth story. Prizes are given for the biggest crowd pleaser, the best use of an engineering principle, the most destroyed contraption with an unbroken egg, the largest volume entry, and the dean and department faculty's top choices. Check out a video of the Egg Drop in full swing!

E-Days will be held on Feb. 18- 24, 2018, in accordance with National Engineers Week.
