Sue Mead
Sue Mead is retiring

Sue, the director of the Apothecary pharmacy at Wardenburg Health Center, has announced her retirement on April 3, 2020. Sue has worked as the pharmacy director of The Apothecary for 11 years. Some of her many accomplishments and highlights include: bringing technology to the pharmacy – including the internet to the pharmacy in early 2010, the present web-based pharmacy system from McKesson, the first electronic point of sale system. She started the pharmacist based immunization program as well as pharmacist prescribing of oral contraceptives. Over the years, she has positively impacted students and served as a preceptor and supervisor for numerous fourth-year pharmacy and CU students. She also assisted in the design and coordination of the pharmacy remodel project.

Sue’s husband, Tim (also a pharmacist), looks to retire in about 16 months and they are planning to enjoy more time off at their home in Louisville doing the things they love to do -- skiing, hiking, biking and traveling. Tim and Sue both went to CU along with their daughters, Lauren and Kelly. Lauren is an architect in Denver and Kelly is an orthopedic surgeon resident at Dartmouth.

We thank Sue for her dedication and commitment to the pharmacy, the staff and the students over the past 11 years. A retirement celebration will take place at the end of March – more details to come soon.
