Rocío Gavira-Domínguez

Rocío is a PhD student from Mairena del Alcor, Sevilla (Spain), specializing in Medieval and Early Modern Spanish Literatures. She holds a BA in English Studies from the University of Sevilla, an MEd from UDIMA, and an MA in Peninsular and Latin American Literature from the University of Colorado Boulder. Her research interest centers on gender, identity, cultural studies, and the intersections between literature and art. Rocío's doctoral research focuses on women’s writing in the medieval and early modern Iberian worlds. More precisely, she examines nuns who harnessed the power of writing as both an act of agency and a sanctuary for voices too often silenced. Beyond her research, Rocío’s greatest passion is teaching. She believes in creating engaging and inclusive learning environments that encourage students to develop not only their linguistic skills but also their curiosity about the cultures, histories, and literary traditions that shape the languages they study.
