Karen Gaston Malcolm, Instructor, M.A. University of Nebraska – Lincoln, B.A. University of Arkansas - Little Rock.

Karen has taught beginning, intermediate and advanced courses for the Spanish Department and currently teaches SPAN 4060 and Span 4070, Problems in Business Translation I and II. She coordinates Spanish 1020, Beginning Spanish Two where she supervises second-year TA’s.  In addition she is the coordinator for the Department’s Service Learning program.

Karen has worked as a professional translator/interpreter in Chile, Ecuador, Mexico and Peru with companies such as Deloitte & Touche, KPMG, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Standard &Poor’s and the taxing authorities of the above mentioned countries.  Her professional development includes attending the “Consejo Latinoamericano de Escuelas de Administración” conferences in Santiago, Chile and Guayaquil, Ecuador, the University of South Carolina Darla Moore School for International Business Education, plus the University of Colorado Peak to Peak Project for Faculty Development in Sustainability.
