The Nozik Lectures

The Arthur Nozik Lecture Series honors the research and career of Prof. Nozik, who has been a leader in the thriving ecosystem of clean energy research that has developed along the front range over the last four decades.
Prof. Nozik joined the Solar Energy Research Institute in 1978, which became the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) in 1991 and was recently renamed the National Laboratory of the Rockies (NLR). His work focused on fundamental research in solar energy conversion, from photovoltaics to solar fuels. Over his distinguished career, he has made groundbreaking contributions across multiple areas including semiconductor quantum dots, hot electron effects, and multiple exciton generation in nanostructures. A defining feature of his work has been his ability to foster and guide interdisciplinary collaboration, operating at the intersection of chemistry, physics, and materials science. This innovative approach was recognized by CU Boulder with his appointment as Professor Adjoint in 1998 and Research Professor in 2016.
The recipient of numerous awards and honors, Prof. Nozik has published more than 270 peer-reviewed papers, proceedings, and book chapters. He has been cited more than 47,500 times with an h-index of 99, and presented more than 370 invited, plenary, and keynote talks.
The RASEI Nozik Lecture Series brings world-renowned scientists to the CU Boulder campus to present cutting-edge research, engage with RASEI faculty and students, and contribute to the collaborative energy research community that has flourished across the front range. Each lecture showcases breakthrough work in energy science and technology, offering insights into the innovations that will shape our modern energy future.
