Lucia Goldberg is a Materials Science & Engineering PhD student at the Georgia Institute of Technology, conducting research under the guidance of Professor Juan-Pablo Correa-Baena and Professor Antonio Facchetti. She researches the degradation mechanisms of tin and tin-lead perovskites and how to mitigate them with molecular additives using spectroscopy and diffraction-based characterization. Her vision for the future of this material are low-cost, printable near-infrared photodetectors for biomedical imaging and food quality monitoring.

Lucia studied physics at UC Berkeley, where she conducted computational research on hydrogen fuel cells at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, and nanomagnetic heterostructures at the Vienna University of Technology. She developed and taught an introductory problem-solving course for first-year physics students, and also enjoyed being a peer tutor. In her free time Lucia plays ultimate frisbee, spends all things outdoors, and writes songs.
