Benefits of NCTA Participation

Benefits of participation in NCTA seminar and professional development courses include:

Quality instruction about East Asia from leading experts in the field
Free course materials
Professional stipend or resources upon completion of all seminar requirements
Eligibility to apply to NCTA study tours to East Asia and NCTA summer institutes

Eligibility

Highest priority is given to secondary teachers of world geography, world history, world cultures, art history, religion, economics, and language arts/literature. Other K-12 educators in a position to promote the sustained presence of Asia in the curriculum, such as media specialists and curriculum coordinators, are considered in accordance with the specific course and space availability.

NCTA Seminars: How to Apply

Applications and scheduled dates are available on the NCTA Seminars and Offerings page and directly from seminar leaders. Admission is on a rolling basis, and seminars typically fill quickly; early application is suggested.

Educators should send completed applications directly to the seminar leader of the location for which they are applying. Educators interested in enrolling in an NCTA seminar in other parts of the country should see the national project website at http://www.NCTAsia.org.
