Introduction to Ethics, Algorithms, AI and Machine Learning

Overview: This introduction is designed to start off each of our modules, or a larger project that combines modules, by familiarizing students with ethics, algorithms, AI, and machine learning. These are the building blocks for all that comes next. Students will use interactive online tools like QuickDraw and Teachable Machine to begin developing an intuitive understanding of how AI works. This introduction is not designed to be a standalone instructional module.

Duration: Approximately 100 minutes. Note: opportunities for expanding this introduction are described below.                                         

Target Audience: This introduction is designed for students in grades 7-10, in English Language Arts, Social Studies, Computeer Science and/or interdisciplinary combinations. 

Student Product: Google Teachable Machine - Students will train an AI that recognizes images, sounds or poses.
