Project Description

Ryan leads the Cryocoolers Team within the Quantum Sensors Division at NIST. The goal of the Cryocoolers Team is to identify and demonstrate new technologies to make cryogenic refrigerators more accessible, compact, and energy efficient. These refrigerators are a critical enabling technology for many disciplines, including quantum information science. The team specializes in cryocoolers such as pulse tube refrigerators, as well as millikelvin coolers such as dilution refrigerators.
