Housing

As part of the CU Boulder REU Physics program, students get to live with other REU participants in one of CU's many dorms located right on campus!

- Single Room - $2,415
The REU program provides $2000 of room and board costs in addition to travel reimbursement and a stipend. Costs above this amount must be covered by the participants.

Meal Plan
All students will be given a 120 block meal plan which can be used at the following Dining Centers, when open: C4C, Alferd Packer Grill and the SEEC Building.

Experiencing Boulder

Boulder, CO is a vibrant town located at the base of the Rocky Mountains. Its climate is moderate with all four seasons and hot summer; temperatures averaging 80 degrees in June and July with occasional thunderstorms. Boulder is an active and lively place and there is no shortage of things to do. Students participating in the CU REU Program are encouraged to take advantage of the many opportunities to explore the cultural and environmental activities in the Boulder area.

Within a bus ride or a walk from CU's campus is an outdoor recreational area with numerous hiking trails and rock climbing.Pearl St. & Downtown
Pearl St is the main street of Boulder, there are many great dining and shopping options and it is known for its various street performers.

Along with all the other great things Boulder and the surrounding area have to offer, in previous years, the CU REU cohort has typically taken a guided rafting trip during the summer.

Boulder has the ideal location and easy access to many of Colorado's great cities and the Rocky Mountains through the usage of the RTD bus system. You will have access to:

Getting to CU
Transporation
Boulder and the front range have a reliable and easy to use bus system known as the RTD for intercity travel. Within Boulder itself, there is the Boulder bus system that makes getting around town quick and easy.
Airport
Getting to the CU campus from the Denver International Airport is easy on the RTD and only costs $13 for a one-way trip.
