Physics and mathematics have always been of great interest to me. As I began moving through my undergraduate curriculum, computational research became quite appealing as it is a perfect meeting of physics, applied math, and computer science. This led me to join the Betterton group. I am currently building a 2D Monte Carlo model of the mitotic spindle midzone in order to better understand the reorganization of microtubules during mitosis.
