Experts: Could AI really wipe out humanity?
Fears of AI turning against humanity may sound like the stuff of science fiction, but the heads of major AI firms warned the UN Security Council this week it could happen without controls. CU Boulder experts are available to talk about the plausibility of an AI doomsday and how humans can prevent it.
Martha Palmer is a professor of computer science and linguistics at CU Boulder. She’s one of the two U.S. representatives on the United Nations Independent International Scientific Panel on Artificial Intelligence. Palmer can discuss:
