MASP's Bound programs are a year-long experience that aims to support the lived and individual experiences and achievements of first-generation college students and members of historically underrepresented communities. Application to these programs is open to all CU Boulder incoming first-year students in the College of Arts & Sciences who seek to engage in a diverse, multicultural learning community.
There are two Bound Programs: Science Bound (SciBo), which is for students who have declared a major in the natural sciences division, and Social Sciences/Arts & Humanities Bound (SSAH Bound), which is for students who have declared a major in the social sciences or arts & humanities divisions. SSAH Bound also welcomes students who are exploring majors and who are seeking a supportive space to identify which social science or arts & humanities majors align with their interests. (See below for a list of majors included in each program.)
Each Bound program includes:
- Pre-Orientation
- Success Seminar (1 credit hour in Fall)
- Weekend Experience
- Symposium (1 credit hour in Spring)
- MASP Community & Resources (community and study spaces, community events, peer-to-peer mentoring, faculty mentoring, and free printing)
Students who are accepted and participate in the Bound Programs will receive a $2000 participation stipend, $1000 in Fall 2025 and $1000 Spring 2026.
