Learning, Inclusion, Networking, & Community (LINC) 2021 Recap
In January of 2021, MASP hosted its third annual weekend bridge program that welcomes and integrates continuing CU students into the MASP community. Previously known as “Mini-PEAC,” the Learning, Inclusion, Networking, & Community (LINC) program was hosted remotely, and consisted of a cohort of 15 new MASPians from different majors and at various points in their college careers. While MASP’s summer bridge programs emphasize coursework, LINC is an opportunity for incoming MASPians to focus on building relationships and reflecting on their journeys and skills. MASP faculty led workshops and discussions covering topics such as Building Inclusive Community, Learning Strategies, Goals & Time Management and more. The students also participated in several community building activities led by two returning peer mentors. Although we missed being together in-person, the feedback from students was very positive, with one student stating in their exit survey that, “Everyone was happy to be there to get to know each other, we all shared the same feeling of wanting to find a community that cares about its members.” We look forward to supporting these students throughout their time at CU!
