Dr. Alexander S. Fobes joins the Libby RAP this spring as an Instructor in Writing and Rhetoric. At CU he has taught courses in the Humanities and Spanish, as well as the upper-division workshops “Writing on Music,” “Word and Image,” and “Writing in the Visual Arts.” His research interests include aesthetics, lyricism, design, 20th-century and Spanish American literature, and he has published various peer-reviewed articles in these fields. Focusing on select works of four modernist authors, his dissertation examines the innovative role of play in the creation of nonsense effects. In addition to teaching, he enjoys hiking, mountain climbing, music, and travel, and has lived in four foreign countries.
