Transcription Factor-RNA Interactions
I am currently studying the interactions between transcription factors and RNA and focusing on the glucocorticoid receptor (GR). Binding of GR to its response elements regulates transcription of glucocorticoid-responsive genes, but the lncRNA Gas5, among other RNAs, is also able to bind to GR in its DNA-binding domain. Through studying this interaction I hope to explore a new and interesting area of transcription factor-RNA interactions.
Other interests: Outside of lab, Nick likes to play video games and bake bread.
