Research
I am exploring the molecular role zinc plays in mammalian cell cycle and proliferation. By perturbing intracellular available zinc, I track normally cycling cells and quiescent cell populations to infer knowledge on where and how zinc regulates and affects the cell cycle. My recent interest focuses on demystifying the transcriptomic and metallomic signatures of zinc deficiency induced quiescent cells. To achieve this, I use many tools such as fluorescence imaging, FRET sensors, advanced long-term live cell imaging, biochemical assays and bioinformatics analyses.
About Me
Apart from typical Science-ing, I enjoy taking long walks around the city and the mountains, sipping masala Chai in cafes, making small arts and crafts projects and watching Broadway shows.
