Dr. Matt Olm is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Integrative Physiology at the University of Colorado Boulder. With a Ph.D. in Microbiology from the University of California, Berkeley, and a postdoctoral fellowship from Stanford University, he specializes in microbiome research using advanced multi-omics and bioinformatics methods. His work includes developing widely-used software tools such as inStrain and dRep, which have over 100,000 downloads each. His current research focuses on understanding the infant microbiome in contexts of both health and disease. In his free time, Matt enjoys playing with his daughter, cooking nutritious meals for his family, and exploring the beautiful mountains of Colorado.
