Hunter Firth
- GEOLOGICAL SCIENCES
My name is Hunter Frith and I'm a geology student currently studying at CU Boulder. With foundations in mineralogy and petrology, I enjoy uncovering mineral formation pathways, especially in unique contexts like REE-bearing carbonatites and pegmatites of evolved pluton complexes. Every second of free time is spent in the field where academic foundations can be used to understand parameters that influence the formation of mineral deposits. Colorado's tectonic history and complex array of igneous formations make it an excellent setting for sourcing data and testing hypotheses.
In the lab, I am currently managing the university's rock, mineral, and thin section collection to improve accessibility for research and instruction. I'm excited to be part of the group and work with you all.
