Meredith Betterton received an Associate Professor Growth Grant through the University of Colorado's LEAP program to partially fund a stage-top rapid temperature controller for microscopy.

Jeffrey Moore received a 2016 Butcher Innovation Award for his collaboration with Cassi Estrem at UC-Denver. 

Garrek Stemo received a UROP (Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program) award and joined the group. His project title is “Generation of active stresses in microtubule-motor mixtures”.

Meredith Betterton was awarded a National Science Foundation grant DMR 1551095, "EAGER: Biophysical theory of mitotic spindle length instability and self assembly."

Adam Lamson received an NIH/CU Molecular Biophysics Training Scholarship for 2015-16 through the Molecular Biophysics program.
