Our paper " Mechanisms of chromosome biorientation and bipolar spindle assembly analyzed by computational modeling " was published in the Feb 13, 2020 edition of eLife today.
We develop a computational model of fission-yeast mitosis using a course-grained Brownian Dynamic framework in conjunction with a force-dependent kinetic Monte Carlo algorithm to replicate the biorientation and segregation of chromosomes.
Our paper " Theory of Cytoskeletal Reorganization during Cross-Linker-Mediated Mitotic Spindle Assembly " was published in the May 7, 2019 edition of Biophysical Journal. Our video was highlighted on the front page of the journal's website .
We develop a torque-balance model that describes spindle assembly due to dynamic microtubule bundles, spindle-pole bodies, the nuclear envelope, and crosslinkers to predict spindle-assembly dynamics.
Our paper "Theory of cytoskeletal reorganization during crosslinker-mediated mitotic spindle assembly" was accepted for publication at Biophysical Journal.
Adam Lamson and Chris Edelmaier presented their work on modeling mitotic spindle self-assembly at the Rocky Mountain Yeast Meeting held at Colorado State University.
Our paper "Theory of cytoskeletal reorganization during crosslinker-mediated mitotic spindle assembly" was posted on the biorxiv preprint server today.
Today the group celebrated four graduating students: Christopher Edelmaier (physics PhD), Nicolas Santander (engineering physics BS), Michael Stefferson (physics PhD) and Garrek Stemo (physics BA magna cum laude). Congratulations!
