Climate Justice Leader Adrien Seybert

Adrien is active in Boulder's Climate and Climate Justice initiatives. Her interest in eco-social justice issues started as a small child while watching her mom help gather local support for the Clean Air Act, Equal Rights Amendment and other national environmental initiatives. Later, as a high school freshman, she took a mandatory environmental studies class, which provided a deeper understanding of the issues. As a college student, she perused a degree in chemical engineering, which paved the way for a Department of Energy fellowship in nuclear decontamination and decommissioning. This experience prompted a career change to journalism. Adrien started at an Inside-The-Beltway alternative fuels publication and works with organizations in the environmental and civil rights realm. She also runs a one-person communications consultancy called Prolific Persuasion and volunteers at KGNU-FM, eTown, the Humane Society of Boulder Valley and various arts organizations around town. She plays a pretty mean banjo, has a dog named Michener, and likes books and tennis.
