Ryan Driskell Tate

Ryan Driskell Tate is the Associate Director of Global Energy Monitor, an international NGO that develops open access data and information on the world’s energy system. He holds a Ph.D. in History from Rutgers University and is currently finishing his first book on coal in the Powder River Basin. He writes and provides commentary on coal and climate change to public and academic audiences, including Washington Post, TIME, South China Morning Post, Times of India, Financial Times, The Progressive, NPR, and elsewhere. He grew up in coal country in the North East of England.
