In partnership Queer in AI and Information Science at the University of Colorado Boulder, we are announcing a diversity travel scholarship for students to attend CHI2020.

This scholarship will support student’s conference registration (at the early bird student member rate), up to $1000 for travel, up to $400 for lodging, and up to $200 towards other expenses (e.g. food).

Elligibility

Students who contribute to the diversity of HCI in many ways are encouraged to apply.

Students are not required to present at the conference and we welcome applications from undergraduate and graduate students from all backgrounds. We especially encourage minoritized students to apply, which we define broadly but may be described as an affiliation(s) with a racial/ethnic, gender/sexuality, ability, religious, income, and/or institutions with smaller HCI programs.

Application Details

The student application includes two short essay questions and requires one letter of recommendation to be submitted by the application deadline. Applications will be reviewed by a committee of industry practitioners and faculty. Students will be notified of the committee’s decision on March 15, 2020.

Students must submit their application by Sunday, March 1, 2020 at 12pm (noon), Pacific Time
