The Health Professions RAP offers multiple tutors in-house to assist you with chemistry and biology subjects at no cost. Tutoring requests can be submitted to hpraptutors@colorado.edu.

CU Housing provides tutoring in specific courses and subjects free-of-charge to students living in the residence halls through the Academic Support Assistance Program (ASAP). More information can be found at https://housing.colorado.edu/tutoring.

The following services are not typically offered free of charge.

SASC provides a tutoring “bulletin board” where students can locate private tutors for hire in a wide variety of classes.  The “Tutor Locator” can be found online at: http://www.colorado.edu/sasc/tutoring

The Chemistry and Biochemistry office maintains a list of tutors who are certified through their department. http://chem.colorado.edu/current-graduates/tutor-list

The MCDB Help Room is located in the basement of Porter Bioscience, Room B0054.  The Help Room is mainly devoted to helping with fall MCDB 1150 course, but there might be availability in MCDB 2150 as well.  In the spring, the Help Room is devoted to the spring Genetics course MCDB2150.



The Pre-Health Advising office has excellent materials describing required and advised course prerequisites that should be completed prior to applying to a variety of professional schools. Stopping by their offices in the University Club, or visiting the Pre-Health Advising website, is advised is you rough out your course schedule over the next few years. Ensure to meet with a Pre-Health advisor twice yearly.

Pre-Health Student Groups


Each student is assigned an academic advisor. College of Arts and Sciences students can make an appointment with their academic advisor or access other advising services at the Academic Advising Center Website or at their offices in Woodbury. Students of other schools and colleges should contact their deans' offices. Students can also refer to Todd, Nona, and Alison for advising concerns.
