Janée Allsman is a doctoral candidate in French, with an M.A. in French and Francophone Studies from the University of Illinois at Chicago. 

Janée was awarded the GPTI Excellence in Teaching Award and the UGGS Graduate Teaching Excellence Award in 2019.

 

Janée’s dissertation will illuminate why eternity emerged as a particularly contested political and theological concept during the reign of Louis XIV, elucidating the implications of manifestations of eternity in works by Pascal, Bossuet, Guyon, Bayle, and Jurieu.
