ITAL 4300 - Multiculturalism in Italy

2018 Italian track team

Multiculturalism in Italy

Course: ITAL 4300-001
Instructor: Michela Ardizzoni
Teaching Method: Remote
Meets: MWF 10:20-11:10am

Come and learn about multiculturalism and difference in contemporary Italian society. The course will focus on the history and cultural productions of culturally diverse groups that are shaping today’s idea of Italianness. We will analyze hip hop and rap, short stories, films, and other visual arts to understand how these media impact the shifting demographics in Italy and how the concept of 'multiculturalism' is perceived in the Italian context. The course is taught in Italian, so you will improve your reading, writing, and listening Italian skills. Please contact Professor Ardizzoni at michela.ardizzoni@colorado.edu if you have any questions.
