Request for Proposals: Tenured Associate Professor Growth Grants

The Associate Professor Growth Grants provide funding for projects that will assist in advancing the careers of tenured Associate Professors on the CU Boulder campus. Multiple awards will be given in amounts up to $12,000 each. In order to fund as many deserving projects as possible, the evaluation committee will reserve the right to make awards of less than $12,000. Funding will be granted for one year and funded projects must be completed by June 1, 2025.

All tenured Associate Professors who are not currently under review for promotion to Professor are eligible to apply.
Priority will be given to faculty who have not previously received an Associate Professor Growth Grant; who are at least 5 years beyond tenure; and whose substantial service responsibilities since tenure, as made evident in the applicant’s CV and personal statement, have had an impact on research productivity.

All projects must meet the following criteria:

  •  Include work that cannot be completed without this support;
  •  Create opportunities that take the individual’s work in a new direction;
  •  Reflect the individual’s academic goals;
  •  Have a broad impact;
  •  Advance the career of the individual so as to prepare them for promotion to Full Professor;
