In April 2017, I co-organized an international, interdisciplinary workshop at CU on the semantics of time, Beyond Time: Unifying Temporal and Non-temporal Uses of Aspectual Constructions, generously funded by a variety of campus programs. Some of the most ingenious thinkers in the field came to Boulder to talk about how people deploy and understand temporal markers--across languages, across historic time and in real time. The abstracts from that conference can be seen here. My co-organizers Astrid De Wit (ULB) and Frank Brisard (Antwerp) are currently editing a special journal issue featuring some of the papers given at the confernece. Watch this space for more details about this special issue!
