Centers for Public Life
On June 5-9, 2016, BoulderTalks associate director Jeff Motter participated in the second of four learning exchanges with the Kettering Foundation’s Centers for Public Life 2016-17 cohort. The Centers for Public Life initiative brings together community organizations and centers from around the US involved in promoting civic engagement. The learning exchange builds capacity for community discussions about local and national issues by teaching participants how to name and frame issues, write discussion guides, and facilitate discussions.
The 2016-17 cohort is made up of 26 people from all over the United States. This cohort is developing a National Issues Forum discussion guide called “Land of Plenty: How can we improve access to the food we need?” that will be used in communities throughout the US.
Motter will return to the Kettering Foundation in Oct. 2016 and Feb. 2017 to complete work on the discussion guide.
