Community Volunteers

There are year-round and CWA week volunteer opportunities available to Boulder community members. The CWA program committee is composed of CU students, faculty, staff, and community members who volunteer their time to consider the crucial issues of the day, research candidates for CWA, and create exciting panels that will challenge our audiences.

The program committee is made up of subcommittees organized by subject area.

Conference Week Volunteer Opportunities

For each panel session, a student or community committee member is assigned to work behind the scenes to coordinate logistics for that event. This includes introducing panel members to the moderator, leading them from CWA headquarters to the venue and ensuring that the session's physical needs are in order (microphones are working, water is available, name cards are in place). The producer stays in the back of the venue throughout the session to make sure everything runs smoothly.

In the weeks leading up to the Conference volunteers help in the CWA Office assisting in the Conference preparations. During CWA Week, volunteers work behind the scenes in the Conference Headquarters.

At the CWA Information Desk, volunteers hand out programs, direct our campus visitors to panel venues, and answer any conference questions that may arise.

Commmunity volunteers provide housing for CWA speakers during their stay in Boulder. Housers are invited to participate in speaker dinners and special events during CWA week.

For each panel session, community and university volunteers are assigned to introduce the speakers to the audience and orchestrates the panel discussions and audience Q&A.

Donate your time during CWA week by photographing and video recording sessions and events for the CWA office archives.
